announced the availability of an advanced enterprise-scale appliance platform
built around Intel's newest Xeon(TM) processor and 860 chipset.
The product,
designated ``X42,'' is designed for the most demanding network applications
implemented on an appliance platform. ``SteelCloud is dedicated to providing the most advanced and powerful range
of appliance options for our customers,'' explained Brian Hajost, executive

The X42 will allow an

dual Intel 1.7GHz Xeon(TM) configuration with 256MB to 2GB of RDRAM and 18GB
to 365GB of disk capacity in a 2U rack-mount chassis.
The system was
certified using Red Hat (Nasdaq: RHAT) Linux 7.0 and 7.1 as well as Microsoft
Windows 2000 SP2.
